BAMAKO — Malian Prime Minister Choguel Kokalla Maïga has accused international media of orchestrating a campaign to undermine the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), speaking at the opening of the States General of the notary in Mali.
According to Burkina Information Agency, during his address relayed on YouTube, he noted a persistent pattern of misinformation spread by international broadcasters about the AES, a regional confederation recently founded by Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. Maïga argued that such media narratives could confuse Africans about the intentions and benefits of the alliance. Emphasizing the historical significance of decisive leadership, he expressed confidence that the actions taken by AES leaders would be vindicated by history, irrespective of contemporary criticism or skepticism.
