Ouagadougou – President Assimi Goïta of Mali landed at Ouagadougou airport on Tuesday morning, where he was greeted by Burkina Faso’s leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. The welcoming ceremony included the playing of national anthems and a brief discussion between the two leaders in the presidential salon of honor.
According to Burkina Information Agency, following the formal reception, Presidents Goïta and Traoré proceeded to the presidential palace, accompanied by cheers from crowds gathered near the airport. The visit is seen as a significant diplomatic engagement between Mali and Burkina Faso, amid regional security challenges.
