OUAGADOUGOU— Malick Diaw, the President of Mali's National Transition Council (CNT), along with a delegation of Malian parliamentarians, commenced a three-day official visit to Ouagadougou on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. This visit aims to enhance parliamentary cooperation between Mali and Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Diaw was received by his Burkinabè counterpart, Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, and other officials. The visit is poised to bolster the collaborative efforts between the two nations' legislative bodies, particularly focusing on the integration within the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
The highlight of Diaw's visit includes his participation in a plenary session scheduled for Thursday, July 25, where he will address the Burkinabè parliament. Additionally, Diaw will officiate at the graduation ceremony of the 12th cohort of fire officers from the Higher Institute of Civil Protection Studies.
The visit underscores the ongoing commitment to regional cooperation and collective governance among Sahel nations, addressing shared challenges and opportunities.
