Malian Military Students Honor Mogho Naaba Baongho During Study Trip in Burkina Faso

OUAGADOUGOU — A group of military students from the Koulikoro Staff School in Mali paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty Mogho Naaba Baongho, during their study trip to Burkina Faso, to seek his wisdom and blessings for their missions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, head of the delegation, the visit aimed to pay respects to His Majesty and to discuss the security issues affecting African nations. His Majesty emphasized the importance of collaboration among various nationalities to ensure regional stability and the well-being of populations.

During their visit, the trainees also witnessed the “false start of the Mogho Naaba,” a traditional ceremony held every Friday that symbolizes mediation and forgiveness. The delegation presented His Majesty with gifts, including a boubou and a ram, as tokens of respect and gratitude.

The military students have been in the Burkinabe capital since July 1, 2024, as part of their educational tour under the theme ‘Strengthening a Sahelian alliance based on a common vision emphasizing cross-border challenges’, aimed at enhancing cooperation among Sahelian nations.
