Barrick Gold announced third quarter preliminary sales of 1.03 million ounces of gold and 101 million pounds of copper, as well as preliminary production of 1.04 million ounces of gold and 112 million pounds of copper in the third quarter. Production in the third quarter was higher than in the second quarter. The average market price for gold in the third quarter was $1,928 per ounce, while the average market price for copper in the third quarter was $3.79 per pound.
