Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia and Uzbekistan will move to strengthen cooperation in petrochemicals and clean green energy sectors, the leaders of both countries said on Wednesday. Malaysia's state-owned oil and gas firm, Petronas, will be central in realizing this cooperation through technical support, exchange of information, and consultation. The collaboration aims to explore opportunities for mutually beneficial investment projects, as noted by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in a joint statement after the latter's official visit to Malaysia from Tuesday to Wednesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Uzbek side has shown significant interest in collaborating with Petronas, particularly in the petrochemicals sector and clean green energy solutions. The leaders of both countries emphasized the importance of enhancing economic cooperation in key sectors such as renewable energy, digitalization, artificial intelligence, smart city development, and startup development, aiming to yield mutual benefits for both nations.
