Seoul: Patients seeking treatment at Malava Level 4 Hospital are set to enjoy improved healthcare services following the launch of a shillings 50 million facelift project by Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa. The project, which is underway, is being financed by the National Government through the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, and Housing and Urban Development under the Affordable Housing Programme.

According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Barasa presided over the groundbreaking ceremony alongside Malava MP David Ndakwa. He emphasized that the investment reflects the strong partnership between the national and county governments in improving the lives of wananchi. The facelift aims to modernize key service areas at the hospital, creating a safer and more efficient environment for patients while improving working conditions for healthcare personnel.

Governor Barasa stated that access to quality healthcare is a right for every citizen, and through partnerships like this, they are ensuring better services in facilities that meet the required standards. He also noted that his administration will continue to work closely with the national government to expand and modernize health facilities across Kakamega County in response to the growing demand for quality healthcare.

Area Member of Parliament David Ndakwa remarked that the project will enhance service delivery at the facility and spare residents the cost and inconvenience of traveling long distances for treatment. Residents who attended the launch expressed optimism that the upgrade will improve access to healthcare and enhance the hospital's capacity to serve the rapidly growing population in Malava and neighboring areas.

The facelift is expected to transform Malava Level 4 Hospital into a modern facility as both levels of government deepen collaboration in delivering quality public services.
