Makhado Police Hunt for Armed Robbery Suspects After Beja Village Incident

Polokwane, Limpopo – The Makhado Police in the Vhembe District are actively searching for two suspects following a house robbery at a plot in Beja Village. The incident occurred on Friday, November 17, 2023, at approximately 09:30, resulting in a couple being robbed of cash and other items.

According to South African Police Service, During the incident, the couple was working in their garden when they were approached by two armed male suspects. The suspects forced the couple into their house, where they were blindfolded and tied up. The robbers then searched the house, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash, cellphones, a monitor, and some tools. Fortunately, no shots were fired, and the victims were later rescued and reported the matter to the police. A case of house robbery has been registered for investigation.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, has called on the public to assist the police with any information that may lead to the apprehension of the suspects. “We are confident that our dedicated team of investigators will ensure that the suspects are tracked down and arrested,” stated Lieutenant General Hadebe.

The police are urging anyone with information related to the robbery or the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Mavhungu Tshifhiwa, at 076 424 7659 or 015 519 4358. The public can also provide information through the Crime Stop hotline at 08600 10111 or submit a tip-off via the My SAPS App. All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

The investigation and manhunt for the suspects are ongoing as the police work to bring the perpetrators to justice.
