Moscow: Port Moresby: A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was recorded off the coast of Papua New Guinea, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said. The earthquake occurred on Sunday at 3:48 GMT, more than 300 kilometers north of the capital, Port Moresby.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 66 kilometers. There have been no reports of casualties or damage at this time. The capital, Port Moresby, has a population of over 380,000 people. As of now, authorities are monitoring the situation and assessing any potential impacts.
