Machakos Level 5 Hospital Management Board Inaugurated

Machakos: Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has announced the inauguration of the Machakos Level 5 Hospital Board led by Bishop Charles Kababu that will ensure efficient running of the largest medical facility in the county.

According to Kenya News Agency, the Board, now fully constituted with a CEO and other key members, is expected to streamline healthcare services amid increasing demand for quality medical care while planning strategies that will align with their vision to ensure better services for Machakos people. Governor Wavinya emphasized that the board will be responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and developing work plans to achieve their vision for quality healthcare.

Speaking at her office after the inauguration, Governor Wavinya noted the increasing number of patients coming from the counties of Makueni, Kajiado, and Kitui to seek medical services at Machakos Level 5 Hospital. She charged the newly constituted board to address the prevailing challenges quickly to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services to the community.

Governor Wavinya acknowledged the computerization of hospital operations, noting that this initiative has significantly increased annual revenue collection to 241 million from the previous 30 million annually. In addition to the hospital board inauguration, the Governor also witnessed the swearing-in of a new County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Water, Environment, and Climate Change, Ms. Anastacia Wayua, who was sworn in by Justice Mutuku of the Machakos High Court.

Governor Wavinya highlighted the importance of climate change, water, and environment as critical pillars in her mantra of ‘Chakula Mezani pesa mfukoni,’ which aims to transform the lives of Machakos residents. She assured Ms. Wayua of her full support and that of the county government in fulfilling her mandate. The Governor also urged all public officers to uphold integrity and professionalism, stressing the importance of adhering to the code of conduct in public service.
