Lugari: Lugari lawmaker Nabii Nabwera has feted the constituency's top 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate, Dianah Nanjalah, with a thanksgiving luncheon to celebrate her achievement. Nanjalah, a student at Manyonyi Girls Secondary School, made history by scoring a mean grade of A plain with 83 points, emerging as the best performer in the constituency and ending a decade-long wait for the elusive grade.
According to Kenya News Agency, during the thanksgiving ceremony at the school, Nabwera pledged to invest more resources in the constituency's education sector and support more vulnerable and bright students in achieving their academic dreams. He praised education stakeholders for supporting his education agenda, which has led to an increase in students gaining direct university entry.
The MP commended Nanjalah for her achievement despite attending a lesser-known secondary school. He expressed his happiness, noting that Nanjalah had fulfilled a promise to excel. He emphasized the importance of hard work and purposefulness in achieving academic success, urging students to work diligently towards their goals.
Nabwera appealed to teachers to identify and address areas where students face difficulties to help them excel. He recommended using performance graphs for each student as a tool for identifying challenges, a strategy that had proven successful for Nanjalah.
Manyonyi Girls Secondary School Principal Janet Sidera encouraged the school's form three and four classes to maintain the A record set by Nanjalah. She credited the school's improved performance to the MP's support and cooperation among the Board of Management, parents, teachers, students, and the local community.
Nanjalah, who aspires to be a medical doctor, expressed gratitude to the MP for his support, including organizing academic villages to enhance student performance. She attributed her success to the encouragement from her parents and teachers.
