Ouahigouya: Lucien Amos Lankoandé was officially installed as the new prefect and president of the special delegation of Ouahigouya during a ceremony on Monday. The event, overseen by the Secretary General of Yatenga Province, Pierre Claver Bancé, marked a significant administrative transition in the region. According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation ceremony took place in the function room of Ouahigouya town hall, attended by various dignitaries, including members of the constituted bodies of Yatenga province, civil society actors, community development partners, and resource persons from the city. The outgoing prefect, Botetessan Constant Bonou, who has led the community for the past 26 months, handed over his duties to Lankoandé, appreciating the support of his superiors and expressing hope that the new prefect will continue to advance current projects with the same support. The ceremony featured speeches from representatives of the prefecture and town hall staff who acknowledged the posit ive outcomes achieved during Bonou's tenure. SG Pierre Claver Bancé, representing the Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility and other high-ranking officials, officially declared Lankoandé as the prefect, conveying his best wishes and encouragement for success in his new role. Lankoandé was presented with the keys and documents of the prefecture and town hall, symbolizing the transfer of authority. In his acceptance speech, Lankoandé thanked his superiors for their trust and emphasized his commitment to addressing the development challenges of Ouahigouya. He highlighted the need for perseverance, commitment, and relevant interventions to drive the community's development forward, reflecting his readiness to lead the administrative district.
