L©raba: The Muslim Association for the Support of Islam (AN‚¬¡AR-DINE) delivered 3 tons of corn to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Sindou on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The distribution event was overseen by the High Commissioner of L©raba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative aimed to alleviate the hardships faced by IDPs in the L©raba province. The donation coincided with the celebration of May 12, marking the birthday of Ch©rif Ousmane Madani Hadara from Mali. This date is traditionally associated with charitable activities organized by the AN‚¬¡AR-DINE association throughout the province of L©raba, the second province of the Cascades region.
Historically, AN‚¬¡AR-DINE’s charitable activities in the province include donating blood, providing tables and chairs, supplying hospital delivery beds, and constructing kitchens in health centers. These efforts reflect the association’s commitment to humanitarian actions, irrespective of the beneficiaries’ religious affiliations, as stated by the provincial president of the association’s sermons, Lassina Ouattara.
Ouattara urged individuals of goodwill to prioritize humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, Ousmane Ou©draogo, the provincial director responsible for humanitarian action in L©raba, appealed to donors to assist IDPs in securing arable land, which would support their empowerment within the province.
The High Commissioner, Yacouba Sawadogo, expressed appreciation for the commendable efforts of AN‚¬¡AR-DINE and encouraged continued support for state services involved in humanitarian aid.
