L©raba Students Lead Cleanup Effort at Provincial Tax Office

L©raba: Students camping in L©raba province took initiative to clear the surroundings of the provincial tax office in Sindou of household waste and weeds on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Supported by technical services and the Wayihans, the cleanup was led by Issiaka Yadia, president of the Sindou special delegation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the activity was part of an environmental holiday camp program in L©raba, aimed at putting into practice the civic and moral education on environmental hygiene taught to the campers. Over a hundred student campers, assisted by provincial director of the Environment, Ousmana Ou©draogo, and his colleagues, participated in the cleanup.

Equipped with tools like dabas, rakes, and shovels, the students tackled the rubbish and grass around the tax office. The participation of the Wayihans, led by Issiaka Yadia, was a significant morale booster for the students.

Ousmana Ou©draogo stated, “The organization of this summer camp aims to instill the notion of sustainable development in the rising generations.” The PDS further supported the initiative by providing tricycles and sanitation equipment from the town hall, emphasizing the municipal administration’s role in supporting sanitation activities.

Issiaka Yadia praised the students for their dedication and expressed satisfaction with their work and the mobilization for environmental causes. The Wayihans are aligned with the President of Faso’s objective to change mentalities and foster honesty among Burkinab¨ citizens.
