L©raba Population Urged to Stand Against Local Servants During National Flag Ceremony

L©raba: The High Commissioner of the L©raba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo, presided over the 21st stage of the rotating ceremony for raising the national flag in Sindou on Thursday, June 5, 2025. The population was invited to stand up against the local servants.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the rotating ceremony of raising the national colors has been organized in public and parapublic services and structures in L©raba, the second province of the Cascades region, since June 9, 2022. This year’s 21st stage was organized by the Department of Sports and Leisure within the High Commission.

The goal of the national colors raising in the province is to foster a sense of civic duty and patriotism and ensure systematic respect for the State’s symbols, particularly the national colors. During the ceremony, High Commissioner Yacouba Sawadogo paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Mr. Sawadogo urged the people of L©raba to oppose the efforts of imperialism and its local agents. “We must oppose our revolution and its leaders with our courage and determination to break the chains of slavery and alienation forever,” he declared.

The head of the Sports and Leisure Department, Aboubacar Dao, provided an overview of the achievements in volleyball, football, and athletics in the province for the year 2025. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the torch was handed over to Roger Zimba, the representative of the head of the SONAPOST agency, who will host the 22nd edition of the ceremony.

The next ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2025, as they prepare to continue this tradition.
