L©raba: The High Commissioner of L©raba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo, launched civic and patriotic education activities for post-primary and secondary school students in L©raba this Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Sindou. They were encouraged to attend the training modules diligently and regularly.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative marks the beginning of the first phase of the patriotic and civic education program for students, excluding those in exam classes, focusing on intermediate grades. L©raba, the second largest province in the Tannounyan region, aims to instill civic-mindedness and patriotism among its youth.
The High Commissioner emphasized the importance of instructors being attentive to the students' concerns and urged students to engage actively with the modules. Mr. Sawadogo also pledged his support to the provincial education authorities to achieve the program's goals.
Amadou Ti©moko Traor©, the provincial director in charge of post-primary education for L©raba, highlighted that the program is designed to develop students into civic-minded, patriotic individuals who respect public order and defend collective societal interests. The activities are planned to occur over five months, supervised by Defense and Security Forces and teachers in Sindou.
Regular gatherings for students from public and private schools in Sindou are scheduled multiple times a week at the Dr. S©ydou Traor© Provincial High School. This phase of the program currently focuses on main towns with security forces, and Mr. Traor© expressed optimism about the initiative's success in achieving its objectives as desired by the authorities.
