TITAO — Captain Djibril Bassolé, the High Commissioner of Loroum Province, conducted a visit on Monday to the main health centers in Titao, emphasizing support for healthcare staff and assessing operational challenges in a region grappling with security issues.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit to the urban Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS Urbain) and the Medical Center with Surgical Antenna (CMA) was aimed at motivating healthcare workers and acknowledging their efforts under difficult circumstances. The staff at these facilities, despite a challenging security environment, continue to provide essential services to the community. “We are happy that the authorities came to visit us,” said Rachid Zaïda, head of the CSPS Urbain. He highlighted the increased patient inflow during the winter season and the readiness of his team to manage the surge.
At the CMA, Dr. Fayçal Konfé expressed appreciation for the High Commissioner’s visit, which he said boosts staff morale. However, Dr. Konfé also voiced concerns over the lack of certain medical examinations and essential supplies at the facility. “There are exams that we cannot do here and essential kits that we do not have,” he reported, stressing the importance of addressing these gaps to better serve the population.
During his tour, High Commissioner Bassolé visited various departments, speaking with healthcare providers and expressing pride in their dedication. He committed to addressing the highlighted issues and encouraged local populations to support healthcare teams actively. “Health workers are doing well despite the difficulties linked to the security situation. We will play our part so that the problems raised can be resolved,” Bassolé assured.
The visit comes at a time when the region is experiencing significant displacement of populations from local and neighboring communities due to ongoing security threats, leading to a heightened demand for medical services. Humanitarian efforts have also been initiated to supplement the shortage of logistics and healthcare personnel in the area.
