Loroum: Harouna Tao earns the title of super teacher with a 100% pass rate on the CEP: With 93 out of 93 candidates passing the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) exam in 2026, teacher Harouna Tao of Titao B School was named Super Teacher of the Year at the Provincial Day of Academic Excellence held this Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Titao. The ceremony also honored the top students and education stakeholders in the Loroum region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by the High Commissioner of the province of Loroum, Captain Djibril Bassol©, and supported by Issouf Porgo, president of the Association for the Development of the Province of Loroum (ADPL), along with sponsor Jacques Boukary Niampa. A total of 28 students and several distinguished teachers were recognized for their outstanding performances.
The awardees received letters of congratulations, school kits, bicycles, and motorcycles as tokens of appreciation for their dedication and achievements.
Sidiki Mand©, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Loroum, commended the teachers' resilience in maintaining educational continuity amid challenging security conditions. He emphasized the importance of celebrating the efforts of both learners and educators, which contributed to a 99.81% success rate in the 2026 CEP session and a 98% promotion rate in intermediate classes.
The Day of School Excellence, established in 2005, aims to foster a culture of merit and motivate students and teachers to excel. Jacques Boukary Niampa, the 2026 edition's sponsor and initiator of the distinction in the province, lauded the achievements and called for strengthened social cohesion in the face of regional insecurity.
High Commissioner Djibril Bassol© highlighted the day's significance, noting it as a testament to the resilience of Loroum's education system. He acknowledged the remarkable accomplishments and the reopening of the Soll© school, underscoring the determination to uphold educational rights despite security obstacles.
The ceremony's pinnacle was the recognition of Harouna Tao as Super Teacher of the Year, following his students' perfect pass rate in the CEP. Tao attributed the accolade to a collective effort involving students, parents, colleagues, and educational supervisors and vowed to continue striving for academic excellence in the province.
