Loroum: The Loroum Theater Workshop Association (ATL) donated school supplies to students at the Siguinoguin school in the commune of Titao on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The donation, consisting of over a thousand notebooks, pens, pencils, and slates, was presented to Sidiki Mande, the provincial director of primary education for the Loroum region, for the students of the Siguinoguin school.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Belem Saidou, a parent of a student at the Siguinoguin school, expressed his gratitude and thanked the donating association. ‘We are proud that the ATL association and the education officials thought of our children. I extend my thanks to them,’ he said.
On behalf of the headmistress of the Siguinoguin school, Zoenabou Nacanabo also expressed her joy and indicated that these supplies would be a great help. ‘We hope that when you visit in a few months, the children will tell you how well they made use of these supplies and that their academic results will be excellent,’ Ms. Nacanabo said.
The provincial director in charge of primary education for Loroum stated that this donation is very timely and will help alleviate some of the burden on parents. According to Sidiki Mande, the need for school supplies is enormous given the gradual reopening of schools following the return of the population. ‘The need remains significant. The number of desks and benches is far too low considering the large number of students,’ Mr. Mande added.
He made a heartfelt appeal to organizations and individuals of goodwill to show their support for schools in Loroum. On behalf of the president of the Loroum Theater Workshop association, Noufou Boina emphasized that this donation is a response to the enormous need in the field of education. ‘We know that the needs are numerous. As a development association, we wanted, through this symbolic gesture, to contribute to the resilience of schools in Loroum,’ said Mr. Boina.
With the gradual return of people to Titao, school enrollment has become excessive, thus creating problems with infrastructure and school supplies.
