Ouahigouya – The High Commissioner of Loroum province, Djibril Bassolé, inaugurated a vaccination campaign on Thursday, November 2, 2023, for children aged 0 to 59 months. This initiative, led by the NGO World Vision, is in support of the health efforts in the Titao district, which has been severely impacted by the security crisis.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a member of the Titao crisis committee, the vaccination campaign is a welcome development for improving the health of local children. He highlighted that this vaccination drive is a crucial supplement to other healthcare services provided to children in the area. Dr. Blaise Daouega, representing World Vision, explained that the campaign aims to reach children who were not covered or only partially covered by previous vaccination efforts. “We are determined to ensure that all children in the 0 to 59 month age group receive vaccinations,” said Dr. Daouega.
The launch event, attended by traditional and religious leaders, saw High Commissioner Djibril Bassolé expressing gratitude to World Vision and urging the community to participate actively to ensure the campaign’s success.
