Ouahigouya – In a significant step towards enhancing education in Loroum province, Djibril Bassolé, the High Commissioner of Loroum, visited the Non-Formal Basic Education Center (CEBNF) of Titao on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. During his visit, he presented technology packages to the training workshops at the center.
According to Burkina Information New Agency, The visit was warmly received by learners, teachers, and members of the Management Committee (COGES) of CEBNF. Sarata Ouédraogo, a member of the CEBNF Management Committee, expressed gratitude for the support from local authorities. “I am very happy with this visit from the head of the province. This gives us courage to continue the fight to educate children,” she commented.
Saïdou Sawadogo, the director of CEBNF, also shared his satisfaction with the High Commissioner’s visit. He noted that the High Commissioner not only encouraged learners and teachers but also acknowledged the work being done at the center and addressed the challenges they face.
According to Sawadogo, the delegation, led by Bassolé, brought essential equipment for the operation of CEBNF, which he believes will aid in training out-of-school children for various trades.
During his visit, Bassolé encouraged the center’s stakeholders and commended the enthusiasm of the teachers, learners, and COGES members. He emphasized the unique role of CEBNF in vocational training. “The CEBNF is a special school in the sense that it aims for training in trades. We came to translate the support of the national authorities and bring them material acquired for the benefit of the training workshops,” Bassolé explained.
The visit also saw the participation of other prominent figures, including Oumarou Dialla, the 2nd vice-president of the special delegation, and Aboubakary Siribié, the provincial director of the Loroum national police.
Since October 2023, Bassolé has been engaging in discussion meetings with constituents and conducting field visits across Loroum province to understand the local realities and address concerns.
