Loropeni: Barryera Primary School Takes Part in the Deme Sira Patriotic Educational Campaign

Loropeni: The Barryera primary school in the Loropeni basic education district (CEB) held a synchronized flag-raising ceremony on November 17 as part of the national awareness and citizen mobilization campaign 'Deme Sira'. The occasion marked an important step in instilling patriotic values among the students and community.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the flag-raising ceremony was followed by the reading of the campaign's official message entitled 'sow the seed of solidarity'. This message aimed to resonate with the core values of the Deme Sira campaign, emphasizing solidarity and unity.

After the flag-raising ceremony, a 30-minute participatory discussion was held in the classrooms on the theme: "Solidarity, Our Common Strength." Each classroom teacher provided an in-depth explanation of the meaning of solidarity and how to implement small acts of solidarity within the school and the community. By using concrete examples, they addressed the topic of solidarity at school, at home, and in the community, helping students to embrace the values of living together and mutual support.

The students pledged to sow the seeds of solidarity in their hearts and within their families, thereby committing to the principles of mutual support and community cohesion.

The Deme Sira campaign is under the High Patronage of the President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore. It aims to promote the values of solidarity, patriotism, mutual support, and social cohesion among students by combining the civic act of raising the flag with a moment of civic education.
