Ouagadougou: Local stakeholders in the municipality of Gorom-Gorom convened for the first ordinary session of the Municipal Consultation Framework (CCCo) to discuss the 'Faso Bu Kaor©' law, religious freedoms, and road safety, before formulating recommendations for better appropriation of reforms and prevention of road accidents.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting included members of the Special Delegation, administrative and judicial authorities, as well as representatives from civil society. The session was highlighted by a presentation from Kafando Yamtarba, prosecutor of the Dori High Court, who introduced Law No. 003-2026, known as "Faso Bu Kaor©." This law supports the amicable settlement of certain disputes using customs and traditions, aiming to bring justice closer to citizens and reduce court congestion.

The discussion also covered religious freedoms, with an emphasis on the secular nature of the State and the prohibition of hate speech and discrimination based on religion. Police Lieutenant Zongo Daouda addressed road safety concerns, noting that traffic accidents in Gorom-Gorom often result from speeding, stunts, and non-compliance with the Highway Code.

The meeting concluded with various recommendations, including increased public awareness and enforcement of the law. Sibiri Neya, the PDS, suggested mandatory security measures for wedding organizers applying for show permits. Additionally, prosecutor Kafando Yamtarba highlighted the responsibility of the bride and groom in case of accidents.

Participants urged for intensified efforts to promote the new reforms and enhance road safety within the municipality.
