Local Solidarity at the Heart of Deme Siira in Houet

Houet: The Peni town hall hosted a ceremony to hand over food and clothing to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable populations. This social action is part of the presidential solidarity initiative Deme Siira and was made possible thanks to donations collected from the residents of the commune. In total, 2 tons of food, consisting of rice and corn, were collected.

According to Burkina Information Agency, present at the scene, the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Peni, Kassoum Ouattara, congratulated all those who contributed to this surge of solidarity and invited the beneficiaries to make good use of the food. The provincial director of Social Action, Doh Yazouma Alexis, also praised the commitment of the actors involved in the operation.

For his part, the head of Social Action in Peni, Issa Kagambega, announced that more than 30 families will each benefit from 50 kilos of food, consisting of corn and rice. On behalf of the beneficiaries, Yacouba Sawadogo expressed his gratitude to the authorities and the community. The families, overjoyed, welcomed these donations as a true relief.
