According to a report, China has granted $1.92 billion in loans in 2021 and 2022, or 86% to projects in West Africa. Senegal, Benin and Ivory Coast borrowed the largest amounts. The report also reveals that although China lends less to Africa as a whole, Chinese lending to West Africa has taken a larger share.
