LMRA CEO Discusses Worker Rights with Bangladesh Chargé d’affaires in Bahrain

Manama: Nibras Mohammed Talib, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons (NCCTIP), met with A.K.M. Mohiuddin Kayes, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Bangladesh to Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on the crucial role of embassies and diplomatic missions in collaborating with the government to enhance awareness among expatriate workers about their rights and responsibilities. The discussion underscored the importance of creating a supportive work environment that protects all involved parties.

The meeting also addressed several innovative efforts initiated by the Kingdom to improve labor conditions. These include the implementation of a wage protection system and the assignment of an International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for each expatriate worker at Bahrain International Airport. These initiatives are designed to facilitate the electronic transfer of wages, promoting the security and rights
of workers in Bahrain.
