Among the traditional events included in National Culture Week (SNC) are literary activities.
This event initiated to promote literary culture officially opens today Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bobo-Dioulasso.
Book publishers are not going to be told the SNC. At this biennial of culture, an exhibition and sales space has been dedicated to them at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bobo-Dioulasso.
For this edition, in French-language literature, 124 manuscripts are in competition divided into five literary genres, namely the novel, the short story, poetry, storytelling and drama.
After the official opening of the literary activities that day, focused on visits to exhibition stands and book sales, other activities are planned.
This is the inaugural conference which will be moderated by Mgr Anselme Titianma Sanon on the theme of the edition: “Cultural diversity, ferment of national unity”.

Also on the menu of activities, there are the Literary Cafés of Faso (CALIFA) which will be presented, on May 4, by Charles Niamba and Fatim Zabré on one side and Boubacar Dao and Joseph Sanou on the other side.
The first two will animate on the theme: “role and place of the Burkinabè writer in the promotion of peace and security” and the second two on “the poetic heritage of Jacques Prospère Bazié, several times winner at the SNC” .
In addition, on May 5, an intergenerational dialogue is planned to allow the discovery of the careers of eminent personalities from the world of culture in order to arouse vocations in the various sectors of tangible and intangible heritage.
Among his guests are Professor Salaka Sanou, the writer Bernadette Sanou/Dao, the former Minister in charge of Culture, Jean Claude Dioma and Konomba Traoré
