Ouagadougou: The Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN), Jacques Sosthene Dingara, visited Dori to express the government's gratitude to education stakeholders in the Liptako region during the resumption of educational activities for the 2025-2026 school year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was aimed at encouraging, congratulating, and supporting all actors in the education system who are demonstrating resilience and commitment to ensuring the continuity of education despite a challenging security context. Minister Jacques Sosthene Dingara expressed satisfaction with the dedication of volunteer teachers who continue to educate wherever security conditions permit.

He acknowledged their significant sacrifices and contribution to preserving the educational future of children in Burkina Faso. During his visit, the minister engaged with teachers, educational supervisors, administrative officials, and technical and financial partners in the education sector. These discussions provided a platform to assess the educational situation in the region and share the ministry's vision for the future.

Minister Dingara outlined 11 major projects as strategic priorities for MEBAPLN, which align with the country's educational vision for 2030. These projects aim to transform the national education system to be more resilient, inclusive, efficient, and adapted to local realities. Key initiatives include improving access to preschool education, ensuring equity and inclusion for all children, and integrating local values into curricula.

The minister also emphasized other focus areas, such as promoting food self-sufficiency through school agriculture, developing practical skills, and advancing the teaching profession. Additionally, the integration of information and communication technologies, student monitoring, and creating educational pathways for out-of-school children are part of the strategic goals.

The visit was well-received by students, teachers, parents, and partners, reflecting the importance the Burkinabe authorities place on national education. This commitment is seen as crucial to the country's independence, sovereignty, and development, in line with the ideals of the ongoing popular progressive revolution. Through his visit, Minister Jacques Sosthene Dingara reaffirmed the government's dedication to prioritizing education as a cornerstone of national progress.
