TASS reports that Lionel Messi’s Argentina national football team jersey, worn during the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, is set to be auctioned off. This jersey will be a part of a unique collection comprising six jerseys Messi donned in the World Cup matches.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the auction of this collection is expected to raise at least ten million dollars. If achieved, this auction could set a new record in the realm of sports memorabilia. The current record was established in September 2022 when Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls jersey from the 1998 NBA Finals was auctioned for $10.091 million.
The 2022 World Cup, held from November 20 to December 18 in Qatar, saw the Argentina national team emerge victorious against France in the final. Messi played a pivotal role, scoring two goals in the match, and securing Argentina’s World Cup victory.
