Pretoria – In preparation for the festive season, the SAPS Provincial Corporate Communication in Limpopo, represented by Sergeant Maphure Manamela, conducted a radio campaign with Blouberg FM Radio Station on Thursday, 22 November 2023. The campaign is part of Limpopo SAPS's strategic measures to enhance public safety and reduce crime during the festive period.

According to South African Police Service, During the interview, Sergeant Manamela highlighted the success of the high-density operation KuKula, including arrests in illicit mining and the confiscation of equipment worth millions. The Provincial Crime Statistics for the 2nd quarter of the 2023/24 financial year indicated a decline in crimes like murder, demonstrating the effectiveness of these operations.

Manamela shared important safety tips with listeners, advising them to avoid displaying valuables, use reliable transportation, be cautious with online information, stay alert to possible car hijackings, and manually check vehicle locks to prevent car jamming. These measures aim to combat gender-based violence, stock theft, and mob justice, contributing to a safer festive season.
