Life Fighters, Rundu Chiefs Vow to Secure NPFL Survival

Rundu: Relegation-threatened Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) sides Life Fighters and Rundu Chiefs have expressed confidence in their ability to avoid demotion from the country's elite division as the season enters its final stages. Life Fighters currently sit at the bottom of the log with 17 points from 24 matches. Meanwhile, Rundu Chiefs occupy 10th position with 23 points, placing them just ahead of fellow relegation candidates Tigers FC, who sit in 11th. According to Namibia Press Agency, Life Fighters head coach Charles Bwale maintained that the team, affectionately known as 'Kahirona,' will fight until the final whistle of the season to secure their top-flight status. 'We are capable of doing it, we will push hard for survival and the players are equal to task. We are well prepared and nothing must stop us from reaching our goal,' he said. The Otjiwarongo-based outfit faces a daunting challenge this weekend as they travel to the coast to face Blue Waters on Saturday and Eleven Arrows on Sunday. B wale confirmed a clean bill of health for his squad, noting that all players are available for selection. While he urged supporters to rally behind the team, he admitted that balancing full-time employment and schooling for some players has hampered the club's consistency this season. Rundu Chiefs chairperson Agripa Haindongo meanwhile described the upcoming fixtures as a battle for survival. He insisted that Rundu Chiefs will not be relegated. 'Rundu Chiefs will not go down, that is a fact,' a confident Haindongo said. He confirmed that the squad is ready to lock horns with their opponents. 'We will be welcoming Tigers FC and Young African FC this weekend and we will leave no stone unturned to get the points. The atmosphere in the camp is positive and the players know their duties as well,' Haindongo said.
