Lieutenant Colonel Rasmané Wango Appointed as Head of Fire Brigade’s Support and Rescue Group

OUAGADOUGOU — Lieutenant Colonel Rasmané Wango was formally appointed as the leader of the Support and Rescue Group (GAS) of the National Fire Brigade during a ceremony held at the Higher Institute of Civil Protection Studies on Friday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Wango has committed to dedicating himself to the role with "tirelessness, loyalty, and selflessness" to serve Burkina Faso effectively. The GAS is tasked with providing essential support and specialized resources to fire and rescue operations throughout the country, ensuring efficient and effective responses to emergencies.

The ceremony marked a pivotal moment for the National Fire Brigade as it continues to strengthen its capacity to manage and mitigate fire-related incidents and other emergencies requiring specialized intervention.
