Léraba: The Minister in Charge of Basic Education Discusses with Education Stakeholders

Léraba: The Minister in charge of Basic Education, Jacques Sosthène Dingara, met on Friday, May 30, 2025, with education stakeholders in Léraba and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in Sindou, the capital of the province of Léraba. The meeting aimed to encourage and support those involved in the education sector, particularly in organizing the end-of-year exams for the 2025 session.

According to Burkina Information Agency, one of the main objectives of the meeting was to express gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) for their support to the ministry during times of conflict. Additionally, the minister sought to motivate students by wishing them success in the upcoming CEP exam session. Minister Dingara emphasized that preparations for the exams were thorough, with regional directors confirming readiness through videoconferences.

The minister’s visit began in Banfora, the capital of the Comoé province, before proceeding to Sindou. During his discussions with classroom teachers
, school principals, and educational supervisors, Dingara focused on the introduction and implementation of new reforms in schools. The talks also addressed the practical aspects of organizing the CEP exam and transitioning students into 6th grade.

Stakeholders on the ground provided suggestions aimed at better implementing these reforms for the benefit of the country. Minister Dingara visited several classrooms in Sindou, where students were engaged in final revisions, offering them words of encouragement.

Souro Sanon, the provincial director in charge of primary education in Léraba, praised the minister’s hands-on approach and commitment to advancing education in Burkina Faso. Sanon urged local stakeholders to communicate any needs promptly, especially concerning the organization of end-of-year exams.
