Léraba Province Celebrates National Flag Raising and Agricultural Development

Léraba - On Thursday, June 6, 2024, the High Commissioner of Léraba province, Mahamadi Congo, led the 17th ceremony of the solemn national flag raising in Niofila, Dounia department. This event coincided with the inspection of advancements in the Léraba plain development project (PAVAL), aiming to foster citizenship and patriotism among the local population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the flag-raising tradition, which began on June 9, 2022, promotes respect for national symbols across public services and structures in Léraba, the second province of the Cascades region. The ceremony also highlighted the progress of the PAVAL project, where 170 hectares have been fully developed, and the remaining 600 hectares are over 21% complete. The project, crucial for the region's agricultural strategy, has reached a significant phase as it prepares operators for the upcoming winter season. Adama Konfé, the provincial director in charge of Professional Training, praised the initiative and confirmed plans to continue the tradition with the necessary installations for the next ceremony scheduled for July 4.
