Léraba: The High Commissioner of the province of Léraba, Yacouba Sawadogo, chaired a preparatory meeting for Tree Day, which is scheduled for June 21, 2025. In line with the initiative “One province, one medicinal plant grove,” 2,000 species of medicinal plants will be planted to create a grove for the benefit of the local population.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial directorate in charge of Water and Forests organized the meeting on May 22, 2025. The plan involves reforesting a 5-hectare site in Bougoula, in the department of Kankalaba, which is 30 km from Sindou.
This initiative aims to contribute to environmental greening while promoting traditional medicine by establishing a medicinal plant grove in Léraba. It is expected to enhance biodiversity and improve access to medicinal resources for local communities.

rovince for the year. However, he noted that no funding has been received for the project.
High Commissioner Yacouba Sawadogo expressed gratitude towards the organizing committee members for their dedication to meeting this challenge.
