Leraba Food Security Council Members Receive Training on Food Security

Leraba: The High Commissioner of Leraba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo, chaired the second 2025 session of the Technical Committee of the Provincial Food Security Council (CT-CPSA) on Monday, December 22, 2025, in Sindou. The meeting was held under the theme: "Contribution of the agricultural, livestock, and fisheries sector to achieving food and nutritional security in Leraba Province."

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was organized as part of the implementation of the national food and nutritional security policy for the population. The Leraba Provincial Food Security Council convened its technical committee to address the pressing need for strengthening food security measures within the province.

The provincial food security committee acts as a decentralized branch of the National Food Security Council (CNSA), which operates under the Ministry of Agriculture. Its main mission is to facilitate discussions on food and nutritional security issues at the provincial level, ensuring that local needs and challenges are addressed effectively.

During the session, stakeholders engaged in presentations covering topics such as humanitarian aid and varying levels of malnutrition, including acute, severe, and moderate cases. These discussions helped identify key indicators of progress and challenges, providing a comprehensive overview of the current efforts and obstacles faced by technical services at the decentralized level.

The session concluded with the presentation of perspectives and recommendations aimed at enhancing food security within Leraba Province. High Commissioner Yacouba Sawadogo emphasized the importance of the session for all members of the technical committee, as it ensured a uniform understanding and dissemination of information among participants.
