Leraba Clean-Up Day Sees Sindou Prefecture Courtyard Cleared of Grass

Leraba: The courtyard of the Sindou prefecture was cleaned on Monday, February 23, 2026, during a sanitation day by the Development of the Presidential Initiative for Community Development (DIPDC) of Leraba, headed by Bassoma Traore.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Presidential Initiative for Community Development (DIPDC) is a community-based organization established in 2025. Its aim is to promote the implementation of presidential initiatives within communities through civic activities.

The initiative includes cleaning public facilities, such as the High Commission, the Prefecture, and the Town Hall, as well as clearing sand from roads in the city of Sindou. These activities are part of the organization’s efforts, as described by Mr. Traore. The organization has over 40 members and has received 20 tricycles from the highest authorities in the country to aid in these activities.

“The sanitation and hygiene component of the project took off in Sindou, the capital of Leraba province, in August 2025. The goal of our work is to clean and maintain our living environment,” stated Bassoma Traore, the DIPDC focal point. He highlighted that citizens often join in to support these activities.

Mr. Traore appealed to the people of the province to unite and commit themselves to projects of common interest. He emphasized that improving the living environment requires active participation from everyone in the community.
