Léo Customs Seek Ancestral Blessings for Peace and Prosperity


Léo, Burkina Faso – On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the community of Léo gathered to observe a day dedicated to traditional customs and rites, seeking ancestral blessings for peace and a fruitful rainy season. The event, organized by the association of traditional and customary chiefs of the commune, featured a libation ceremony.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony involved various rituals where the participants, including the high commissioner of the Sissili province, Tewendé Isaac Sia, and the president of the special delegation, Kassoum Koalaga, implored the spirits of their ancestors. The rites aimed to secure a return to peace and ensure a successful agricultural season for the region. The gathering also recognized the efforts of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, for promoting such initiatives that reconnect communities with their ancestral values for the country’s harmonious development.
