Seoul: President Lee Jae-myung has appointed vice ministers of finance, foreign affairs, and industry, as well as the country’s chief trade negotiator, the presidential office announced. Lee Hyoung-il, the current commissioner of Statistics Korea, has been appointed as the first vice finance minister. Lim Ki-keun, who is the administrator of the Public Procurement Service, has been selected as the second vice finance minister.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Yeo Han-koo, who previously served as trade minister during the Moon Jae-in administration, has been named the chief trade negotiator. Park Yoon-joo, currently serving as a minister at South Korea’s mission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, has been appointed as the first vice foreign minister. Kim Jina, a professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, has been chosen as the second vice foreign minister.
Moon Shin-hak, recognized for his role in leading the Moon administration’s nuclear phase-out policy, has been appointed as the first vice minister of industry. These appointments mark a significant reshuffling in key governmental positions, reflecting President Lee’s strategic vision for handling economic and foreign affairs.
