Keetmanshoop: An 18-year-old learner at Suiderlig High School is expected to appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court after he allegedly raped three minor girls last week at the southern town. Namibian Police crime investigations coordinator for the ||Kharas Region, Deputy Commissioner Nicodemus Mbango, informed that the suspect allegedly had sexual intercourse with three girls aged between 10 and 12.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the rapes allegedly occurred on Thursday at the victims’ household in the Kr¶nlein residential area. The suspect is reportedly a friend of a relative of the victims. It is alleged that the suspect invited the girls to watch football in the house while their relative was outside playing football.
Deputy Commissioner Mbango stated, ‘They all went to watch television in the house. The suspect called the minors into the main bedroom one by one, where he threatened them with an okapi knife if they didn’t follow his instructions to get undressed and have sexual intercourse with him.’ The incident came to light when one of the girls confided in her cousin on Friday, after which they were examined, and sexual assault was indicated.
The suspect has been charged, and police investigations are ongoing.
