WARDEN – On Thursday, 15 June 2023 the Thabo Mofutsanyana District showed muscles on multidisciplinary approach on fighting crime at the N3 outside Warden with high successful visibility led by District Commissioner, Major General Jan Tsotetsi and Provincial Traffic District, Control Motshabi.
The purpose of the roadblock has objectives which is Crime Prevention and Road Traffic Act.
It was very cold and windy conditions that have seen law enforcement officials on the road and appreciated mostly by road users. It comprised of Emergency Medical Service, N3TC, traffic and Department of Home Affairs – Immigration Unit. The thorough searching was done on vehicles passing towards KwaZulu-Natal. At the end two suspects were apprehended and 28 motorists issued with traffic fines to the value of R10 000-00.
The Phuthaditjhaba K9 Unit, Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit as specialized units formed part of the roadblock concentrating on drugs and suspected stolen vehicles. A number of motorists found in possession of lawful firearms were compliant and had their licences intact.
The District Commissioner, Major General Jan Tsotetsi thanked the joints on behalf of the National Commissioner and Free State Provincial Commissioner for successful high visibility showed, discipline, professionalism in terms of conduct of officials.
