Labor Minister Stresses Role of Scientific Research in Public Service Development

Luanda: The Minister of Public Administration, Labor, and Social Security, Teresa Rodrigues Dias, on Monday highlighted the importance of scientific research in bridging academic knowledge with the real demands of the labor market and the challenges of public service.

According to Angola Press News Agency, who was speaking in Luanda at the workshop on “Value Systems and Effectiveness in Scientific Research: Paths to Internationalization,” scientific research also promotes technological advancement and contributes to the improvement of products and services.

“In a global context strongly driven by knowledge and innovation, scientific research is the foundation of sustainable development and a driver of societal transformation,” she said. She also emphasized that the event represents a significant milestone for the sector nationwide. Teres Dias stated that the event is an opportunity to join forces, strengthen institutional capabilities, and consolidate practices that bring the country closer to internationa
l standards of academic and professional excellence.

Teresa Rodrigues Dias also stressed that the workshop aims to align the training, performance, and management of the scientific workforce with the demands and best practices of the international research market, promoting the employability and mobility of researchers. She also emphasized that the workshop aims to empower institutional teams to diagnose, plan, and adopt management and funding practices, as well as create partnerships that ensure compatibility and international recognition of diplomas, projects, and scientific competencies produced in the country.

She also said that the initiative seeks to promote an institutional culture of continuous improvement, accountability, transparency, and alignment with international standards and strategic goals for sustainable development and the integration of national science into the global landscape. The event, which concludes Friday, is promoted by the Sapiens Institute, in partnership with the National Ins
titute of Social Security (INSS), Jurislab Consulting, and the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor, and Social Security (MAPTSS).

Participate in the meeting with public policymakers, rectors, researchers, and managers of educational and scientific institutions, who will participate in sessions consisting of lectures, practical workshops, and learning. The meeting will discuss topics such as “Integration between Higher Education and the Labor Market,” “Researcher Mobility,” “The Sustainability of Science Funding,” “The Creation of Strategic Partnerships between Universities,” “Research Centers, the Public Sector, and International Organizations,” among others.
