Kunene: Kunene NamPol FC have been crowned champions of the Kunene Regional Football League Second Division after finishing the 2025/26 season unbeaten. According to Namibia Press Agency, the Opuwo-based side secured the title on Saturday with a 4-1 victory over Young Eagles at Okaukuejo before concluding their campaign with a goalless draw against !Ugab FC in Outjo on Sunday. The draw saw Kunene NamPol finish the season at the top of the standings with 54 points, ahead of Okarindi Komutati on 46 points and Green Dangers on 45 points. Kunene NamPol dominated the league throughout the season, recording a series of impressive performances to maintain their unbeaten record and secure the championship with one round of fixtures remaining. Speaking to Nampa, Kunene Regional Football Association (KUNRFA) Regional Coordinator Ruben Bolla Nangombe congratulated the champions on their achievement. He stated, "Kunene NamPol FC have shown consistency, discipline and quality throughout the season. They deserve to be cr owned champions after maintaining high standards from the start of the campaign." Nangombe described the season as one of the most competitive in recent years. "From the very beginning, this season was an intense race between Robber Chanties, Kunene NamPol and Okarindi Komutati. By the second leg, it boiled down to a thrilling rivalry between the two Opuwo-based clubs," he said. He added that the competitiveness of the league continues to improve, with the championship race and relegation battle often being decided in the closing stages of the season. Meanwhile, Okarindi Komutati finished the campaign as runners-up with 46 points, while Green Dangers secured third place on 45 points. At the bottom of the table, Aweh United and Young Eagles were relegated after finishing in the bottom two positions. Looking ahead, Nangombe said KUNRFA plans to host an NFA C-Licence Coaching Course, expand grassroots football programmes and activate the Opuwo Third Division Stream as part of efforts to strengthen football de velopment in the region.
