Kremlin Rules Out Peace Talks with Japan Amid Hostile Relations

Moscow: It is not possible to talk about peace negotiations with Japan while Tokyo adheres to a hostile anti-Russian course, and the countries are not discussing the conclusion of a peace treaty at the moment, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Peskov emphasized that Tokyo has fully aligned with actions perceived as unfriendly and hostile towards Russia. He noted that while Japan expresses a desire to reach a peace treaty, the current measures taken by the Japanese leadership contradict such intentions.

Peskov highlighted the disparity between Japan's stated intentions and their real-world actions, which he claims have affected the possibility of negotiations. He stated that the Kremlin's stance is based on the present reality of bilateral relations.

Peskov confirmed that there are no ongoing contacts with the Japanese authorities regarding a peace treaty.
