Moscow: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Thursday that he will not comment on leaks of alleged details of a “peace plan” concerning Ukraine. This statement follows recent reports suggesting a proposed peace agreement involving the recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and the freezing of current front lines.
According to Namibia Press Agency, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that the US was frustrated with Kiev’s resistance to make territorial concessions and its preference to prioritize a ceasefire over other issues. The newspaper also indicated, citing unnamed sources, that the US intended to propose these terms during discussions with Ukrainian and European representatives in London.
Peskov emphasized the Kremlin’s position, stating, “We cannot and do not wish to comment on any leaks related to the alleged details of the alleged plan. We repeat, the work is ongoing. We speak only for ourselves. We are focused on continuing the settlement process and appreciate the mediation services of the American side.” He also noted that considering Russia’s interests is essential for achieving peace in Ukraine.
