Kremlin Confirms Russia Expects Xi to Attend May 9 Celebrations in Moscow

Moscow: Moscow is expecting the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II on May 9, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Wednesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Peskov stated, "We are expecting the Chinese leader to come. There will be a separate visit by President Xi, which we attach great importance to and are preparing for." He made these comments to reporters during the Znanie (Knowledge) educational marathon.

In early April, Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that he anticipated Xi's visit to Russia for the Victory Day celebrations on May 9.
