Kourweogo Residents Pray for Peace and Stability During Eid al-Fitr 2026

Kourweogo: The Muslim community of the commune of Bousse gathered on Friday, March 20, 2026, to pray for peace and stability in Burkina Faso, in the presence of administrative authorities and representatives of other religious faiths.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ramadan prayer marking the end of fasting was celebrated in Bousse under the sign of spiritual mobilization for peace and stability in the country, emphasizing solidarity, tolerance, and the strengthening of social cohesion.

The community extended their prayers for the protection of the governing authorities and the consolidation of national stability. Imam Harouna Kabre, who led the service, highlighted that Eid al-Fitr is a significant day for the Muslim community, marking the culmination of 30 days of abstinence from food, physical intimacy, and an effort towards social rectitude. He encouraged the faithful to preserve and enhance the spiritual benefits acquired during Ramadan.

Prayers were also offered for the end of the terrorist threat and for the protection of combatants. The High Commissioner of Kourweogo Province, Mahamadi Congo, congratulated the community and expressed hope that the penance and devotion observed would lead to individual and collective happiness. He urged all religious groups to pray for the rulers' safekeeping and the success of efforts to reclaim national sovereignty.

Domestically, Mr. Congo appealed for prayers in favor of harmony among the province's residents, emphasizing that unity and cohesion are essential for realizing the locality's economic potential.

The Catholic Church, represented by Father Isaac Yamoego, joined the celebration to offer support. Father Yamoego prayed for health, peace, and prosperity for families and tranquility for the nation.

Seydou Tall, a trader, expressed gratitude for fulfilling his religious obligations in good health and urged young people to exercise respect and caution in traffic. Mahamoud Ouarma, another trader, expressed gratitude for experiencing Ramadan and prayed for divine support for the Defense and Security Forces in their fight against evil. He wished everyone a long and healthy life for future Ramadans.
