Kourweogo Community Mobilizes to Repair Access Road to Gasma

Kourweogo: The residents of Ritiguè Koudogo, in sector 4 of Boussé, have initiated efforts to repair a crucial section of the road leading to the village of Gasma, as observed on a visit by Albert Tiendrébeogo, the 1st vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Boussé, on June 1, 2024.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the repair work began a week ago with women, men, and children using tricycles and carts to backfill the most challenging parts of the track, particularly where it crosses a valley about 3 km from Boussé. This section frequently becomes impassable in rainy weather, posing significant risks of accidents and making it difficult for vehicles, including ambulances, to pass.

Laurent Ouédraogo, a local resident, expressed concerns about the difficulties caused by the flooding during the rainy season, which prevents access to Boussé and can damage surrounding fields as users attempt to navigate around the mud.

While acknowledging that road maintenance is typically the responsibility of the town hall, Vice-President Tiendrébeogo commended the community's initiative and civic engagement. He referenced previous studies conducted on this road, suggesting that the community remains hopeful for more substantial repairs to commence soon to benefit the local population.
