Kourwéogo Association Reaffirms Support for Transitional Government in Burkina Faso


BOUSSÉ, KOURWÉOGO PROVINCE – The Kourwéogo provincial section of the ‘Burkina rempart’ association has expressed unwavering support for Burkina Faso’s transitional government during a meeting held on August 24, 2024, in Boussé. The event was marked by the presence of significant figures including Michel Kopio, the president of the national office of ‘Burkina Rempart,’ and various notable customary and religious leaders of the community.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Siméon Ilboudo, the assembly’s main goal was to showcase their commitment to the strategic directions set by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. Ilboudo praised the president’s dedication to reclaiming national territory and his efforts in rejuvenating hope among the Burkinabè populace. “For this, he deserves the contribution of everyone and the youth of Kourwéogo intends to contribute their part,” he stated.



The gathering saw activities such as tree planting at the high commissioner’s residence followed by marches through city streets where demonstrators voiced their support for the government. The meeting culminated in speeches that highlighted the government’s progress in combating terrorism, enhancing social welfare, and fostering economic development.



Naaba Sonré, speaking for the godfather of the event, expressed hope for renewed national unity and socio-economic growth. Michel Kopio echoed this sentiment, urging the youth to support President Traoré’s vision, emphasizing that the current governance structure promises a brighter future for them.
