Kourweogo: The Buudnooma association for the development of Routenga held the 5th edition of its cultural days on January 11 and 12, 2025, in Goudrin. It served as a platform for nationals, local actors, and friends to discuss the challenges related to the socio-economic development of the locality.
According to Burkina Information Agency, for forty-eight hours, the village of Routenga was vibrant with sports and cultural activities, performances by modern artists, traditional troupes, local cuisine showcases, and a public conference on the theme: “Importance of family ties and community involvement.”
The president of the Buudnooma association for the development of Routenga, Alain Pierre Sawadogo, emphasized the purpose of the annual meeting as an opportunity for the locality’s expatriates to reconnect with their roots. He stressed the importance of uniting efforts for the socio-economic advancement of their village.
Paul Tarbala Boudo, president of the Village Development Council, highlighted the event’s significance for the youth to reconnect with the social and cultural heritage of their origin. He noted the pressing needs in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, indicating that community involvement is crucial alongside state efforts.
The association’s engagement with residents aims to better direct its future interventions, as stated by Paul Tarbala Boudo. Village notables expressed their appreciation for the gathering and hoped it would continue to strengthen familial and communal bonds.
The village patriarchs also reflected on the security challenges faced by the community. The Tansoaba of Routenga called upon divine and ancestral spirits to protect government authorities and fighting forces. He expressed hope for future editions to be held in a peaceful and secure environment for the nation.
Routenga, officially known as Goudrin, is situated approximately twenty kilometers north of Ouagadougou within the Canton of Sao in the commune of Bouss©.
